Jackson Pollack is easily the most readily known painter of the Abstract Expressionism art movement. The movement focused on the busy and the chaotic. The works were action-filled, abstract, and emotionally intense. With their all-over fields of color, Pollock’s drip paintings are among his most highly recognizable works. Rather than stand at an easel with brush in hand, Pollock spread his canvas on the floor, liberating him from constraint of motion. Pollock would dance rhythmically and splash, drip or otherwise place the paint as his subconscious dictated. I see Pollack in these mitts…You can embellish as you desire, creating that overall, chaotic look of the movement.
