Chunky braided cables cover these snuggly socks so you can get your cozy on whether you’re curling up with a good book or venturing out for a walk through the Autumn woods. The patterning is a simple 8x8 repeat which means you can make a whole family’s worth of cozy Autumn Study socks for everyone from baby’s through men’s sizes. So get ready to cast-on and enjoy the chill in the air!

The pattern includes variations for both Cuff-Down and Toe-Up options. It uses a short-row heel along with a standard wedge toe, but feel free to substitute your favorites as needed.

This pattern is written for 6 sizes: Baby – Adult L, however, the length is very easy to adjust. To create a customized fit, just select the appropriate circumference and knit to appropriate length.

Notes

  • Pattern includes links to relevant tutorials. Tutorials are also posted to the the YumiYarns Tutorials page.
  • The needle size listed is the needle size I regularly use, but I am a very loose knitter so you may need to go up 1-2 needle sizes to get a fabric that you like. Most knitters do well with US size 2 (2.75 mm) & if you are a tight or newer knitter you may want to try a US size 3 (3.25 mm). If you know your standard needle size for sock knitting, use that instead of what I have listed (the size that gives you gauge).
  • Make sure that your beginning of round marker is different from your other markers so you can tell the difference. Locking markers are recommended.
