Av Skála mittens knit up quickly in an aran or other chunky weight yarn. They are available in 3 sizes, but could easily be adapted to a range of sizes by adjusting gauge, length or weight of yarn used. Children’s sizes could be made using worsted weight yarn.

An especially warm pair could be made by knitting a size larger than your usual, and then lining them with a sport weight yarn.

This would be a great pattern for a knitter new to 2-color patterns, as many of the rows use only one color at a time.

The patterns in the mitten come from an old favorite stitch pattern book, Føroysk Bindingarmynstur by Hans M. Debes, published in 1969, Tórshavn.
