Ava is a lightweight shawl featuring a simple lace texture throughout the design. Its generous shape provides good coverage over the shoulders and makes it easy to wear over a T-shirt when the weather starts to cool or layered over a jacket or coat during the colder months. A modern and versatile design you can wear throughout much of the year.
Design features
- Worked from the center spine outwards, gradually growing on both sides to create its distinctive elongated triangular shape.
- The lace texture is created through a sequence of rows that is repeated throughout the shawl.
- Worked in one piece and finished with a decorative border featuring a different texture.
- Three video tutorials with QR codes
and direct links included in the PDF

Why you’ll love making this design
Because it’s the kind of pattern that pulls you in from the first row. The design repeats, and once you’ve been at it a while, you have the rhythm, your hands go on their own, and your head gets to rest. You finish it, and the first thing you think is, When do I start the next one?
