In honour, celebration, and appreciation to our Aves friends. May the cats wear bells, the dogs tread lightly, may our short grassy lawns grow wild and vigorous, and may you live long and prosper!

This is a pattern for a colourwork cowl, worked in the round from a provisional cast-on. Once all charts are worked to desired length, stitches are grafted in the round to connect the cowl.
This pattern includes 6 bird charts plus 2 extra bird charts if you would like a longer cowl.

Each bird element is 27 - 32 rounds using approximately 54 - 64 yds / 50 - 58 m per element per colour (there are 6 bird elements + 1 if extra length is desired) and the accent element is 13 rounds using approximately 4yds / 4m MC, 9yds / 9m CC1, and 14yds / 13m CC2 per element (there are 7 - 9 accent element repeats).
