The Avril beanie is worked holding together one strand of merino and two strands of mohair starting from the double folded brim using knit stitches that are knitted through the back loop followed by a beautiful cable pattern. The combination of merino and silk mohair yarn held together makes it warm and soft.

Measurements: Circumference of finished beanie once blocked 47 (53) cm / 18.75 (21.25)”.

Size guide: Recommended negative ease is about 5 cm / 2” measured from your own head circumference.

Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in a cable pattern using 5 mm (US 8) needles holding together one strand of merino and two strands of mohair, after blocking.

Needles: 4 mm (US 6) and 5 mm (US 8) 40 cm / 16” circular needles, 5 mm (US 8) DPNs for the decreases.

Yarn: 50 (50) g Sandnes Garn Sunday (100% merino – 235 m / 257 yds / 50 g), colour Whipped Cream held together with 50 (50) g Nurja Mohair (72% kid mohair, 28% silk – 420 m / 459 yds / 50
g), colour Vanamo.
