You can use any yarn with a suitable hook. It’s important to select a hook that’s slightly smaller than the size recommended on the yarn label or the manufacturer’s website.
For example, in this project, mercerised cotton from Scheepjes Catona was used. While the manufacturer’s recommendation is a 2.5 mm hook, I used a 2.2 mm hook instead.
