My son asked for a real axolotl for Christmas. That’s not happening, so I’m hoping this cute crochet axolotl will do the trick. How could it not?

✨ What makes it work

• Beginner friendly. Simple single crochet shaping.
• Stands on its own. Optional metal washers add weight to the base.
• Invisible decreases. A tip for neat, invisible sc2tog is included.
• You’re not on your own. Video tutorial and written pattern included.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Wool of the Andes Worsted, WeCrochet (worsted, 110 yds/50g). Colors shown: Oyster Heather (50 yds), Blossom Heather (50 yds), Dragonfruit (30 yds)
• Eyes: Twill Fingering, WeCrochet in Graphite Heather (small amount), or embroidery thread
• Hook: E (3.5mm), or size to obtain gauge
• Tools: Removable Stitch Markers · Yarn Needle · Scissors · Fiberfill
• To finish like the sample: 3 to 4 Metal Washers, 1” to 1.25” (optional)
