Who doesn’t need a happy Axolotl Buddy to brighten up the winter blues?

The instructions are written in US crochet terms, there are charts for the set up rounds of the head and gills, and the tail frill, and step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy.

When made with DK weight yarn (sample 1 made in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and 3.0mm hook the finished axolotl will measure about 24cm/9½ in tall. When made in Chunky textured yarn with 5mm hook the sample measures about 50cm/19in long.

You’ll need to know how to:

・make a Magic Ring
・work in a round
・single crochet
・increase/decrease
・chain stitch
・slip stitch
・half double crochet
・double crochet
・work around a chain
・work into 3rd loop / back hump of a chain
