About This Pattern:
Meet Azolla the axolotl! Azolla is a 12-point star blanket lovey, with a head, two arms, and a tail.
This pattern includes step-by-step instructions, photos, assembly directions, and a full chart for the blanket section (in addition to written instructions).
See the suggested tools and materials below.

Skill Level: Intermediate

  • This pattern includes stitch increases, decreases, and color changes.
  • The axolotl’s gills are built into the head to be more secure and simplify assembly. Because of this technique, the head may require intermediate crochet skills.
  • The axolotl’s head is created with a double layer to separate the head stuffing and the snout stuffing. This helps the head maintain its shape by preventing the snout stuffing from being squished into the main part of the head. Because of this technique, the head may require intermediate crochet skills.
