This is Style A4 from the Berroco booklet #152, Natural States. It’s a sideways crocheted vest using their worsted weight cotton called American Cotton.

The finished bust sizes are listed as 39, 43 and 47 inches. Gauge is 9 dcs to 2”, 2 rows to 1”.

Four colors are called for, as follows:
4(5-5) Slate
3(3-4) Adobe
2 White
1 Wheat

DC rows are worked thru the back loop on the right side and thru the front loop on the wrong side rows.

For the rows with the ‘Aztec’ pattern (two colors used in a single row), both colors are carried across and there are instructions on how to work so that only one color shows at a time. This is a type of what is known as tapestry crochet.
