APPROXIMATE YARN REQUIREMENTS

Using Stylecraft Special DK or a similar DK-weight yarn:

Colour A: approx. 400–500g
Colour B: approx. 400–500g

Approximate total yarn:
2,580–3,226 yards / 2,360–2,950 metres

For a comfortable allowance, I recommend having up to:

Colour A: 500g / approx. 1,475m / 1,613yd
Colour B: 500g / approx. 1,475m / 1,613yd

Yarn quantities are approximate. Individual tension, yarn choice, hook size, gauge and the number of overlay stitches worked can all affect yarn usage.

MOSAIC OVERLAY CROCHET

The blanket is worked with the right side facing throughout.

Only one colour is used on each row, alternating between Colour A and Colour B.

Yarn is cut at the end of each row.

The design is created using Back Loop Single Crochet stitches together with Front Loop Double Crochet stitches worked two rows below, producing the characteristic layered mosaic effect.

For the clearest finished image, choose two colours with a good level of contrast.

FINISHING YOUR BLANKET

Border instructions are not included within this individual pattern.

The blanket can be finished using tassels, a hidden-tail method or an envelope border.
