On Babille, the cables follow little arms through every movement. They run along the top of the sleeves down to the wrists, like two raised paths you’d want to trace with a finger. All the charm of this cardigan lies in that detail, which shows itself when baby reaches out a hand or lifts their arms.

It is knitted from the top down, without seams. Row by row, the stitches cross and the cables take shape. Their rhythm carries the knitting right to the end of the sleeves, with the pleasure of watching the pattern grow with each repeat.

On Wednesday, there is already so much to tell, even without words. A babble, a waving hand, two arms reaching out: Babille goes along with these first conversations. The ones where you answer with a smile, where you repeat a sound just for the pleasure of it, where gestures say as much as the voice.
