I’ve been asked if the flower pattern on the last blanket picture is included and yes, I have added that to the pattern.

You might be thinking, isn’t this just a very big dishcloth……the answer is yes and no!!! It is just like “My Favorite Knitted Dishcloth Pattern” but it has a 5 stitch wide boarder vs. a 3 stitch wide boarder. At first I thought it wouldn’t make any difference….just make it wider but it just doesn’t work out. After several different versions, I finally got the beginning corner and the ending corner to look nice. I have also found a way to make the other two corners more square and lay much nicer than other patterns similar to this one. I have made this blanket 3 stiches wide many times but my favorite is the 5 stitch wide version, it’s just nicer. I love having this blanket on my needles because once you get used to it, it becomes a mindless project that can be done while reading, visiting, traveling etc. A few minutes here and a few minutes there and before you know it, you have a beautiful, cozy baby blanket any baby would love to be wrapped up in.

Yarn: I’ve used this pattern with worsted and bulky weight yarns. I’ve used bulky and chunky in Cascade, Oncore, Corona-KingCole & I like Knit Picks, Brava Worsted
(100 g ball) because it is a very soft acrylic and they have fabulous colors. This yarn is nice
for babies and still looks great after washing and drying many times. When using this
yarn, you will need 6 skeins. Be sure to read the note in the pattern, to understand the reason for
using 6 skeins. It will also help you know how much to purchase, if you choose to use a
different yarn that has more or less yardage than the Brava worsted yarn.
Needles: With the Brava worsted yarn, I use 7US/4.5mm, circular needles - 29” or longer will work.
When using a bulky or baby yarn, use the needle size for that yarn weight. I like to start off
using straight needles and when there’s too many stitches, I switch to the circular needles.
