Baby cardigan - DANIEL
This top down jacket is neatly fastened at the neck with one button. It is knitted throughout in garter stitch which makes it nice and stretchy for a growing baby.
The stripes are easy to add but they can be easily omitted if desired.
As its knitted from the collar down the arms and body can be made longer or shorter as desired.
This is very easy to knit and a great project for a beginner.
The jacket would look great over a babygrow or with a little T-shirt and pants - or could easily work just as well over a dress.
All my patterns are aimed at the novice knitter to give them confidence in producing a garment that looks great on baby.
Buttonholes can be placed on the opposite border if preferred.
NOTE;
WHEN THE PATTERNS SAYS :- Repeat rows 2 & 3(omitting buttonhole) until there are 164 stitches on needle.. (26 sts front; 34 sts arm; 44 sts back; 34 sts arm; 26 sts front)
Bear in mind that when counting the stitches for the division of sleeves and body you will be including the cable stitches too…..for example Knit 26 stitches for front (this includes one stitch from cable. Then slip the 34 stitches for the sleeve on to holder…..this will include a stitch from the cable at each side….and so on.****
Happy knitting
