I love this style hat – for both little girls and grown up girls! I was making lots of warm sweaters and hats for my new granddaughter and wanted to come up with something a bit different than the traditional ribbed hat with a pom-pom. This hat is what happened.

The pattern uses basic stitches – chains, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet and slip stitches. There is also a special group cluster stitch (directions in the pattern). You don’t need to have extensive experience, but you should be comfortable with working in rounds and with the stitches listed. (If you are just learning or need a refresher, there are some links to video crochet tutorials at the end of this pattern.)

I do not use abbreviations in my patterns, everything is spelled out, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via the email address on the last page.
