A few knitters have contacted me recently to say that, after becoming grandparents, they’ve taken up knitting again and would love to have an easy, basic pattern they could knit for their grandchildren’s dolls.

So here it it is. A basic jacket, hat and booties for 12” an d 14” dolls, which would suit beginners. The jacket is knit in separate pieces, in garter stitch and stocking stitch, then joined at the armholes to make the yoke. There is no fiddly neck shaping and only 2 seams to sew for each side of the jacket. The hat has an easy shaping and a pom pom could be added in wanted, Also the booties have very little shaping so are super easy to make.

Looks great knit in a self patterning yarn - I used King Cole Cherish.

The jacket takes 50g of dk yarn and the hat and booties 25g
