This pattern is Mosaic Overlay Crochet.

It works up as the size of a lap blanket or singe bed sized throw.

I used redheart super saver yarn and a 5mm hook, however you can use any thickness of yarn with any crochet hook, if you used DK and a 4mm hook it will work out smaller, if you use Chunky yarn and a 6mm hook it will work out bigger.
