This pattern is sized to approximately 18” chest which should fit a 3 - 6 month old baby. I used a baby 4ply with a 4mm hook. The pattern is easily made smaller or large just by using a 3 - 3.5 mm hook or use DK and a 4 - 4.5mm hook.

The pom pom is optional but does look cute. I used a full 100g of 4ply including the pom pom but I would make sure you have another ball just in case.
