This charming baby hat is knit using 3.5 mm long circular needles with the magic loop method, though it can easily be worked on double-pointed needles as well. The pattern is worked from the top down, beginning with the stem, and it requires following a detailed chart to guide you through the design. Perfect for a thoughtful baby gift sized 0–3 months, or a delightful way to use up some leftover yarn.

MATERIALS: lemon yellow premium acrylic DK yarn 100 g/ 300m

KNITTING GAUGE: 14 sts and 17 rows to 5 x 5 cm = 2” x 2” in stocking stitch (knit row on right side, purl row on wrong side) and 3.5 mm needles.

NEEDLES: 1 x 3.5 mm (US4) long circular needles or DPNs
