Simple to knit for babies and children (up to age 10 approximately). Instructions are included to knit flat (side to side) with a seam to sew up at the end or in the round for a seamless hat. The hat is made using DK weight yarn so is a quick knit for a fun hat for the festive season.

Babies 0-6 (6-12, 12-24, 24-36) months; Children 4-6, 7-10 years

Actual finished circumference: 34(36,39,41)(46, 51)cm/13½(14,15½,16)(18,20) inches

These sizes are the “unstretched” sizes – the hat will fit average size heads in the age range.

YARN
Any double knitting/8ply weight yarn, subject to achieving the correct gauge. I strongly recommend you knit a gauge swatch to end up with the right size hat! I used Debbie Bliss Rialto DK for my sample.

Quantity: No more than 180m in Main Colour for the body of the hat (MC) and 60m in Contrast Colour for the rib and pom pom (CC)
