Baby Star Blanket Square
by Laura Hughes
I was inspired to create a minimalist baby blanket square, which has a simple yet bright use of colour. This pattern is a great starting point if your are currently learning overlay crochet, and would like a small project to practice on. I have supplemented the written instructions with pictures throughout.
When made with DK yarn and a 3.5mm hook the squares work up at about 3 inches square each. Gauge is not important, so long as all your squares end up the same size.
Materials needed:
- Three colours of DK yarn. (This pattern is great for using up scraps!)
- 3.5mm crochet hook
Techniques used:
- Invisible join
- Magic circle
- Overlay crochet
