I couldn’t find the perfect stocking cap for a baby gift, so I came up with this one. It’s intended to be a photo prop and is not suitable for routine use. Please do not leave child unattended while wearing hats made from this pattern. It should fit baby’s head with circumference of 12”-16” based on measurements from my completed hat, or newborn thru 6 months.

The colorway used is Dogwood and this yarn is soft and plush and knt’s up quick on 10mm needles. I knit a blanket and this hat in less than 24 hours. I did knit the hat first then write the pattern and I’m sure I loosely counted the knit rows between decreases in my test hat. Depending on how long you want your final hat, you can knit more or less than the 4 rows between decreases listed in the pattern. Please let me now if you spot an error in the pattern.
