This is the way I always knit my and my family’s socks. You may of course add a Strawberry to the heel of your favourite knitting pattern.

The size can be adjusted from preemie to about six months, only by knitting fewer or more rounds between heel and toe.

The Strawberry calls for less than one meter of each color for each sock.
In my picture, the model is a small doll :)

Correction to pattern:
In Row 9 and 11 on the heel flap, instead of k2tog, make ssk. It will look better.
