An adorable baby unicorn to snuggle, gift, or hoard. Constructed with the amigurumi technique in the round it works up quick. When created with suggested yarn weight, you’ll end up with a unicorn over 15 inches long (from horn to hooves).
This is a great project to use up small leftovers of colorful yarn. The only real color quantity required is white, and who said unicorns must be white?! Gage isn’t essential, just make sure your stitches are tight enough that stuffing won’t show through. Go down a hook size or two if this is an issue.
Materials:

  • Crochet hook size 3.5 mm (or size E)
  • 200 yards worsted weight yarn in white for body. (I used Red Heart Super Saver in white and could make at least two unicorns from one skein.)
  • 40 yards worsted weight yarn in grey or other contrasting color for nuzzle and hooves.
  • 25 yards of yarn for mane and tail. Doesn’t have to be all one color—use up some scraps!
  • 2 animal eyes, size 15 mm
  • Poly-Fill stuffing
  • Blunt needle
  • Stitch pins
