This little guy was designed to be a chalk bag to accompany you to the crag, but he can also be a planter, a purse, or a basket for your home!

Materials required for crochet portion:

  • worsted weight cotton or acrylic yarn, 100 yards of green and 100 yards of brown
  • 5.5 and 4.5mm crochet hooks, or whatever size makes gauge
  • tapestry needle
  • two black buttons or doll eyes

for chalk bag:

  • sewing needle and thread or sewing machine
  • scraps of fleece, nylon, or heavy canvas fabric for the inner chalk liner
  • approximately 20” of paracord, for sealing the inner chalk liner
  • cord locking toggle, for securing the paracord closed
  • polyfil, yarn scraps, or other filler for stuffing the arms
  • carabineer or paracord for waist strap
  • (optional) between 20 and 24 gauge electrical wire to add stiffness to the ears and brim

Gauge:
15 stitches, 12 rows = 4” in hdc with the larger hook size

Dimensions:
Finished dimensions about 5” in diameter (not including ears), 6” in height.
