When my nephew Walter’s arrival was announced, Aunt Milla started designing a baby blanket that was just in his spirit.

I quite love crocheting the blanket as it’s pretty fast to make. You quickly finish some squares, and it’s crocheted with double thread and hook 6 mm, so you don’t get so impatient with it. Baby Merino is nice and soft and easy for the hands to crochet in. Especially for someone like me with arthritis in the fingers ;-)

It’s a nice dense blanket that has a little weight. That is super good for the little ones, as it gives comfort to lie under <3

The pattern is super easy to follow, and with a lot of tips and images, to make it easier for you to follow.

This is a minimalistic, modern and nordic design.

– Size, blanket: 95 x 95 cm
– Size, each granny square: 16.5 x 16.5 cm (so you can add as many as you’d like)
– Language terms: US + DK

– The yarn: Drops Baby Merino is a super quality for babies. It’s natural so no overheating and non scratchy, so all babies can join here :-) The category for the yarn is 23-26 stitches / 5 ply / sport / baby.
– Here you crochet with 2 threads at the same time, and need 20 balls in total.
– The beautiful finish is a “Handmade”-leather tag on the side in size Medium :-)
