Bachlóg
{bach-logue}; Irish: bud or plant growth

This basic mitten pattern combines elements of the classic and the Nordic methods of construction, resulting in an anatomical fit with an articulated thumb. The teardrop gusset was designed to facilitate thumb movement, and it gives these mittens the look of budding tree branches - hence the pattern name.

Worked in DK to Aran weight yarn, these mittens are a quick and satisfying knit. Separate instructions are provided for knitting cuff-up and tip-down. The Appendix offers additional options for modifications.
