I’ve designed this french style beret one night after spending the afternoon at the local toy library. We were having some small talks woman-to-woman about the cold and hats and caps. Then an elegant friend of mine came up with “why don’t we wear a beret to protect our heads from the cold?”. Of course! I’ve almost forgotten they exist and they are so lovely and well… elegant.
So here we are: this is a little, graceful beret that will keep your head warm.
It’s quite a simple project but you will have some maybe new to you stitches to indulge in, like linked double crochet, extended single crochet and reverse single crochet.

Level: intermediate due to the presence of the linked double crochet stitch.

Finished measurements:
The hat measures 55 cm/21.6” around the brim edge; 26 cm/10.2” in diameter at its widest point.

Note:
The design is worked in rounds joined with a slip stitch.
The pattern uses US terminology.
Gauge: 11 Ldc=10 cm/4 inches

I’ve used some sustainable yarn for this pattern. Please consider to do the same or just dive in your stash and work with some yarn you already have.
