Pattern Construction
Back to the Fuschia is a “kite construction” shawl, that begins with the cast-on of just a handful of stitches. Strategically placed increases and decreases create this unique shape as the shawl grows. The shawl is worked in a combination of easy eyelet lace and a houndstooth mosaic pattern. Mosaic knitting uses slip stitches and only one color for a row but creates a fascinating result.

Four Purls has some AMAZING kits that come with a bonus a custom-scented Love + Leche lotion bar.!!!!

Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)

  • Color One (C1): Whisper - 350 yards (white)

  • Color Two (C2): After Dark – 300 yards (black)

  • Color Three {C3): Love Drunk - 225 yards (pink)

Needles: US 4/3.5mm & one 6/4mm for bind off

Notions: Stitch Marker (optional), T-pins and blocking wires for blocking

Gauge: 27 sts = 4 inches in mosaic stitch & 27sts in garter after blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished size: 62” x 22” after blocking
