I came up with this pattern while making a pumpkin hat for my son’s Halloween costume. So, this pattern was created for no other reason then that I thought it would be fun to also make a bacon hat. Yep, that’s it! There’s no real purpose other than just because!

Reasons you may want to also make a bacon hat:
• You need a quick and easy white elephant gift or gag gift.
• You need a quick and easy Halloween costume.
• You also love bacon, and this hat is for you.
• Someone else you know loves bacon and this hat is for them.
• You are like me and want to sit back and laugh at the fact that you just put your kid on the bus with a bacon hat. No? Ok, let’s just move on then.
• You want to be like my kid and proudly wear a bacon hat to school, work, or wherever because it’s fun and quirky.
• Maybe you hate bacon, and this hat will act as a political statement.
• Or maybe none of these apply and you intend to use entirely different colors and make a normal looking hat.

Whatever your story, I give permission to freely make items from this pattern to sell or donate, or for personal use. I only ask that you please help me keep this pattern free and available for its intended use by not selling or claiming the pattern as your own. As with all my patterns, I’ve tried to include as many instructions as possible for users of a variety of skill levels. However, I understand that something may still seem unclear. If this is the case, please feel free to contact me at ethridge101@yahoo.com. If you need help with making a different size or substituting yarn, please also contact me. I will try to answer any questions and help in any way I can.

I highly encourage creative changes for making your project your own. Some notes have been included in the pattern to give you a few ideas. I also love seeing finished projects! So if you do make a hat, please consider posting pictures and even notes on your creative changes.
