This hat was designed as part of our campaign to raise funds for the Churra Badana sheep breeders association.

The Badana hat is a warm but very light hat knitted in Badana yarn paired with two strands of your favorite silk mohair. The hat is knitted in 2 x 2 rib except for a placeholder for a Badana patch on the brim.

Pattern notes
The hat is worked in the round, bottom up, starting at the brim.

Size
This is a one size (M/L) hat. The finished measurements (after washing) are: circumference: 44cm; height: 28cm from the CO edge.

Materials
Yarn: 1 skein of Rosa Pomar Badana (50% Badana wool and 50% Serra da Estrela and Campaniça wool 115m/126yd = ±50g) paired with 1 skein (two strands) of Rosários4 Aurora (70% Kid mohair and 25% Silk 210m/229yd = 25g).
Waste yarn for provisional cast-on
Sample was knitted in Badana 03 and Aurora 50.
Needles and tools: 6mm/US 10 short circular or double pointed needles (adjust size to obtain gauge if necessary); five stitch markers (one of them different for BOR); tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Sewing needle and darning thread for patch.
