This necklace was inspired by Alexina Hicks from L’Aime Laine’s beautiful handspun yarns and by the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. I would see these two strong independent women wear this funky necklace. However, it would be easy to make it look more conventional by using a yarn that has been spun in a more conventional way. The name of the necklace comes from the idea of a Mexican woman holding her skirt while dancing.

Ce collier m’a été inspiré par les laines filées à la main par Alexina Hicks de L’Aime Laine et par l’artiste peintre mexicaine Frida Kahlo. Je m’imagine bien ces deux femmes fortes et indépendantes portant ce collier un peu funky. Par contre, il serait facile de le rendre plus sobre en utilisant une laine filée de manière plus sobre. Le nom du collier vient de l’image d’une femme mexicaine dansant en tenant sa jupe dans ses mains.
