This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawl that is comprised of two different lace stitches. The focal stitch of the shawl is a “true” lace that comes to us from Russia. The ornate lace edging stitch is added in the traditional Shetland manner, and gives a beautiful and graceful bottom to the shawl.

The shawl measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 26 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a very light fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 5 (U.S.) needles. The shawl requires approximately 1300 yards of yarn making it a delicate by very wearable shawl.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line, however, it is always recommended that you are comfortable with charts for this type of pattern.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a a very good working knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawl was expertly test knitted byMimi SemvIi, who is known on Ravelry as mimiscreations who can be contacted at, karal3@ yahoo.com. It was made using Lorna’s Laces Soulmate in colorway, Grasshopper.
