The Ballerina socks are knitted from cuff down. They are started with a provisional cast on and ribbing, then the cuffs are folded double and joined with the Three-needle Join. The socks are knitted in soothing stockinette stitch. Two options are provided for the heels: a minimalistic short row heel and a more traditional heel with a heel flap and gusset. At the end stitches are picked up from the cuffs and worked in a lace pattern with airy mohair yarn. All techniques used are explained in the pattern.
