Ballet Owls
My friend’s little girl loves owls, and she loves ballet, so obviously ‘ballet owl’ was born as a birthday present. The different sizes are due to using different weights of wool double knit for the brown owl and 4 ply for the beige one. You can make your owls and the outfit any colours you like.
The pieces are all worked flat, rather than in the round. I like to use old buttons for the black part of the eyes, but you can knit them instead. If you are making the owl for a baby or small child avoid buttons for safety reasons.
The only stitches used are knit, purl, increase, decrease and (yarn over knit 2 together) so it is a reasonably straightforward pattern.
My pattern includes detailed instructions for assembling the finished owl, including lots of photographs.
