This is an elongated crescent-shaped shawl, suitable for one skein (435 yards) of fingering/sock-weight yarn. It is knit from the bottom hem up to the back neck and features a wide border of balloon motifs in a simple textured (knit/purl) pattern. The body of the shawl is shaped with short rows.

It is suitable for an adventurous beginner knitter, but would make a quick and easy project for a more experienced knitter. Note that the border motifs are presented in chart form only.

The sample is knit with a gradient colorway, but would also be beautiful in a single color, or using 1 color for the border and 1 color for the body of the shawl, giving you lots of options to pick yarn(s).
