This is a pattern for a light and lacy scarf. However, there are instructions contained within the pattern for a stole, (17 1/2 inches wide) a shawl (24 inches wide), and a narrow scarf, (8 inches wide) giving you the choice of what you’d like to make.

This scarf is knitted with fingering weight yarn. The scarf is approximately 10 inches x 78 inches, but can be altered as stated above, and requires approximately 800 - 1000 yards. The focal cable stitch comes to us Japan, but it is charted using Western symbols.

The stitches are both charted and written out, however it is always helpful if you can refer to a chart.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged.

The stole was expertly tested by Gaye Fehr, who can be contacted at grf1956 @ gmail.com, and was knit using Handmaiden’s/Fleece Artist’s Prosecco yarn in colorway, Piscine.
