Crochet Banana and Banana Peel Pattern

This banana is intended to be as lifelike as possible, and is worked end to end (rather than in the round) to create a realistic look to the banana skin.

Discounts apply if you buy all three of my fruit patterns! See my Fruit Bundle for details.

For an approximately life-sized banana (15cm or 6”) you will need:

  • 27m (30yards) of double-knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn in yellow.
  • 1.5m (2yards) of double-knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn in brown.
  • a 3.5mm (E-4) crochet hook
  • a small quantity of stuffing material
  • a yarn needle

Of course you can easily work a larger or smaller banana using heavier or lighter yarn and varying your hook accordingly.

The pattern includes detailed notes on yarn and stuffing choices.

This 22-page pattern is available in separate UK, US and French language versions. All files will be available for you on purchase and you can choose whichever you prefer to use.

This is an advanced crochet pattern. It contains some unusual stitches and techniques, including the i-cord technique. You need to be confident keeping count of your stitches even when they are hard to see. You need to be able to keep a consistent tension when working with a range of different stitches.

All unusual stitches and techniques are fully explained in the pattern and the pattern contains a detailed tutorial on the i-cord technique if this is new to you. All my crochet patterns are illustrated with detailed photographs and contain extra tips and explanations to make everything as clear as possible.

All my patterns come with my full e-mail support if you have any questions.

Important feature of my crochet patterns
My crochet patterns include BOTH a detailed ‘tutorial-style’ set of instructions with colour photos AND a succinct unillustrated pattern using standard crochet notation. The document is structured so that the succinct version, with an area for your own notes, is on a single page, making it easy for quick reference on the move.

Please see my other patterns for more fruit & veg. A discount is available if you order more than two pattens
