My banana split pillow is my third ice cream shop inspired pillow. Since I always crochet with ice cream colors, this summer, I have been making some pillows that are inspired by an old-fashioned ice cream shop! The front side is composed of nine granny squares. The colored cluster stitches give some texture to the squares. There is a chart included for the granny square. The back of the pillow is simply a large light pink traditional granny square. The pillow is joined along three sides, and the bottom is held together by five buttons. This allows the pillow case to be taken on and off of the insert. There are step by step pictures included throughout the pattern to help you. I used MillaMia yarn, but any sport weight yarn will work. You will need two balls of the color of the front side, 2 balls of the color of the back side, and one ball of each of the colors of the cluster stitches. You will also need a 14 by 14 in pillow insert and 5 buttons (1.5 cm in diameter).
