Banded Bonnet
I have rate this an advanced beginner only due to it’s using a back loop only stitch, an extended single crochet (I have included instructions for this stitch in the pattern) and the changing of colors. I did have beginner testers say that they felt the pattern instructions made these very easy to do…
You only need a small amount of each color of yarn, 40 yards of main color and 12 yards of accent color.
This pattern I personally love in a halo/slightly fuzzy type yarn. Although it does look beautiful in regular smooth type yarns as well.
The band has a slightly raised look to it and a cute pebble knit texture to it, but it is still ‘all crochet’.
There are so many color combinations you could use with this pattern making it very unisex.
Very versatile, it can be used for everyday wear and a beautiful photo prop for a newborn photo session.
I have added the addition of ears at the end of this pattern so you can have another option to make it a bear bonnet. Pattern for the ears is included.
This would be an easy pattern to increase the size of by just changing yarn weight and or hook size, if you are a little experienced in doing this with other patterns this one would be pretty simple to do for you.
It has stitch counts at the end of each round or row, and a finished measurement is included.
