BANDED RIB STITCH HAT
I decided that I wanted to work on stitch combinations that are pretty without being really complicated, something beginner loomer’s could enjoy while learning. After doing some research, I found several stitch patterns. This is the first in a series…
This hat is going to look small once it is off the loom but it fits my Queen size head!!
I have not tried it on other looms or smaller gauges…if you use a loom with an odd number of pegs, just add 2 of the same stitches at the end of each row - if your next to the last stitch is a purl, make the last stitch a purl, as well…if it is a knit stitch, make it a knit stitch.
I work in a clockwise direction but it doesn’t really matter which way you go..
Stitches used: Double ewrap cast on (DEWCO), ewrap (EW) and purl (P) - links to videos will be listed at end of pattern
The yarn I used for this hat is Big Twist Yarn from JoAnn…it is a #5 and I used 2 strands together…a solid color yarn will make the design show up better than when using a variegated yarn…
Supplies needed:
even number peg loom with large gauge was used in this sample…Green Knifty Knitter Loom with 36 pegs, bulky yarn, loom pick, row counter, crochet hook to weave in tails.
