This is one of five original designs in Ann Hood’s new book “Knitting Yarns: Writers on Knitting”.

These fingerless mittens have beaded cuffs that add a touch of class. There are over 250 beads (size 6 seed beads) knit into the fabric for each mitten which uses the magic loop method of knitting in the round.

The mittens are a tight knit to allow the beads to stay in place. The finished measurements are 7.5” hand circumference and an 8” length. The Magnolia or the Silky Wool make terrific choices for the yarn.

Mae Banks, my Grandmother (and a knitter), was a woman who taught me to enjoy the little things in life that bring you happiness.
