Say hello to the next instalment of the ‘Bushwalk’ socks series. Banksia flowers have a distinctive conical shape unlike any other, covered in colourful bristles that are actually hundreds of tiny flowers! In Australia, these beauties bloom year round, but can be enjoyed with none of the mess with these lovely lace socks.

Banksiatic socks are worked toe up, with a heel flap and gusset, and panels of banksia lace and seed stitch. The lace chart is repetitive and suitable for anyone who’s done a yarn over or two before!

Yarn
This design calls for fingering weight yarn. I recommend superwash or tightly plied yarns with good stitch definition.

Sample uses Wren and Ollie’s Purist Yarn in Coral 03.
