The Dark Lord Rises! I present to you: my quarantine hobby.

This Baphomet sweater is a unique, fully double-knitted sweater (okay, except the hood; I cheated. Pattern includes options for double-knitting the hood if you prefer). It is mostly seamless, but requires a kitchener stitch at the armpits. If you want a project that will fill many long days/nights, you’ve come to the right demon!

Double-knitting note:
I did not use a proper double-knitting technique for this sweater; I chose to create an identical image on the front and back of the work. I worked the main color (MC) with two strands, in proper double-knitting technique, but whenever I had to add a color, I inserted that yarn and worked it only for the stitches necessary. This means that I added white yarn to the work for the skulls, used a single strand of white yard to knit both front and back stitches (while carrying the MC yarn through the work) and switched back to the MC at the end of each image.

Size note
This pattern is made in one size, but starts with a gauge test to allow the pattern to fit any size.

Yarn note:
For this pattern, I used three 16 oz balls of “Black Fleck” Red Heart Comfort Yarn (I used about 2.5 balls to complete the sweater). I also used one 7 oz ball of each Bernat Premium: Red, Black, White, Café au lait (I call “light brown” in pattern) and Chocolate Tweed (“dark brown” in pattern).
I wouldn’t actually recommend these yarns! First of all, I didn’t notice the gauge was larger on the colored Bernat balls…
You can use whatever yarn you prefer. Simply test your gauge to build this sweater to your size. If you need help with this, I am happy to answer any questions!
