This “tie,” which can also easily be worn as a skinny scarf, was inspired mainly by Florence “Pancho” Barnes, but many of the early female pilots wore ties as part of their flying outfits.

This design is filled with great stitch texture providing a nice combination of lace and linear sensibility. It works up quickly with minimal yarn, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself stash-busting.

The individual pattern available also includes a visual aid to creating the linked stitches in the design.
