Unfortunately a few years ago while traveling in my RV I felt very unsafe in the evening. The next morning I purchased a baseball bat to use for self defense. I just met a new friend on the road that advised me the bat could be grabbed away from me and then used against me. She has heard of using a sleeve on the bat so that if the bat is grabbed the sleeve would pull off and you would still have the use of the bat to defend yourself. That evening I purchased a skein of yarn and made a sleeve for my bat and here is a very simple pattern for those of you who might need it. So sad we need to do this but I hope this keeps everyone safe!
