The construction of this design is knit top down seamlessly. Given the nature of this being a cardigan, it is worked flat, the sleeves are of course worked in the round. The cardigan features a sleek folded shawl style collar. The increases used are the KFB (Knit Front and Back) increases, making them nice, subtle and delicate looking. The sleeves feature the tubular bind off to allow for stretch and a sleek finish. The hem bind off features Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off in 1x1 ribbing, video links for these bind offs are included in the pattern. The length is fully customizable, however, it is intended to have a loose slightly oversized look and feel to it - think, borrowing your grandpa’s cardigan and it being the tiniest bit too big and cozy for you.

EASE:
The cardigan includes positive ease of approximately 1-4” depending on which size you choose based off of your personal bust size.

(For example: Size medium has a range of 37-40” for bust size measurement, the finished bust measurement of the cardigan is 41”, meaning that if your bust is 37” your hoodie will have about 4” of positive ease, but if your bust is 40 it would be about 1” of positive ease. So please keep this in mind when choosing your size).

MY SIZE (SAMPLE SIZE): The sample piece I made seen in the photos on Instagram, is a size XL (XL 45-48”) my bust is 46” my finished piece measures about 49”, meaning my piece has roughly 3” of positive ease.

Please choose your size when applying according to your actual bust size. If in-between sizes I recommend deciding wether you would like a looser fit or a more snug fit and choose based off of your preferred ease.

Size Options: (based on bust measurement in inches)
XXS (XS, S , M , L , XL)2XL , 3XL , 4XL , 5XL, 6XL

XXS 25-28” (XS 29-32”, S 33-36” , M 37-40” , L 41-44” , XL 45-48”) 2XL 49-52” , 3XL 53-56” , 4XL 57-60” , 5XL 61-64”, 6XL 65-68”

Finished Bust Measurement: (in inches)
XXS 29” (XS 33”, S 37” , M 41” , L 45” , XL 49”) 2XL 53” , 3XL 57” , 4XL 61” , 5XL 65”, 6XL 69”

Ease:
approx. 1-4” of positive ease, meaning this design should fit in a loose or slightly oversized manor, unless you size down and lose out on positive ease. If in between sizes, I recommend deciding wether you would like a looser fit or a more snug fit and choose based off of your preferred ease. Keeping in mind the intention of the design being a somewhat oversized cardigan. If you are choosing to knit this for someone else I highly recommend this being a person who you have regular access to for frequent fit checks, fit checks are highly encouraged throughout the knitting process.

Yarn:
I used - Drops Wish which is a dreamy blown yarn in baby alpaca, merino wool and pima cotton (50% Alpaca, 33% Cotton, 17% Wool), it is a SUPER BULKY/CATEGORY 6 weight yarn. So really any yarn from this weight category that meets gauge should work completely fine for this pattern, however I would personally recommend some form of a blown yarn so it isn’t an overly heavy piece. There are two links below to my local yarn store that carries Drops Wish if this is yarn you intend to use (please note: I receive 0 kickback or anything along those lines for using the links below, this is just my personal LYS and I love promoting the store).

Yardages by size:

Yards= XXS 670 (XS 700, S 760, M 860, L 900, XL 980) 2XL 1,180, 3XL 1,370, 4XL 1,570, 5XL 1,770, 6XL 1,970
OR
Meters= XXS 605 (XS 640, S 695, M 790, L 825, XL 900) 2XL 1,080, 3XL 1,255, 4XL 1,440, 5XL 1,620, 6XL 1,805

Please note that these yardages are approximate and I have included roughly 10% additional yards for good measure. Please also keep in mind the desired length of your piece, if you are looking for something shorter and more cropped you will require less yardage, as well as with additional length comes additional yardage required.
(My personal yardage was: total of 573g, (Drops wish is 50g balls w/ 77yards per 50g) So, 573g divided by 50g is 11.46 x 77yds = 882 PLUS 10% (for good measure) = 970 yards for size XL.)

Needles Used:
US11/8MM for collar and sleeve cuffs(16-22” circulars, or DPNs or longer for magic loop as needed)
US13/9MM for body(32” circulars, or larger circumference as needed)
