Hi there. I made up this pattern one day when I got frustrated by not having the “right” yarn for the “right” pattern for just a basic baby hat. The result is this pattern, which can be used to make any hat, any size. Many thanks to Shari and Kathy Senior of Crochetville for testing the pattern! This pattern is written as joined rows (join, chain one, turn) but you can easily adjust it to be worked in the round.

It could be fairly easily adapted into a knit pattern, too, just using the same basic idea behind the construction.
