Basic Mitts are made to keep your hands warm on the daily walks in cold and wet weather, when you have to handle dog leash, cell phone, keys and God knows what.

Knit from the bottom up, with plain knitting, purling and increases it is a small, “mindless” project to bring along when you are on the move, or while watching TV. I used fingering, superwash merino to keep my Basic Mitts soft, non-scratchy and machine washable. Other fingering wools or alpaca would also work, needing a bit more than half a skein for another pair, there should be some in my stash…..

As this is my first pattern on Ravelry, any questions, comments or good advice is most welcome!
